Common Reasons for Visa Refusal

Incorrect or Unverifiable Points Claims

Claiming points for work experience, qualifications, English level, or partner skills without proper supporting evidence can result in refusal. Every point claimed must be clearly proven.

Inconsistent or Inadequate Documentation

If your employment letters, qualifications, or personal details do not match your Expression of Interest (EOI), the Department may refuse your application. Even small inconsistencies can raise concerns.

Invalid or Expired Skills Assessment

Your nominated occupation must match your positive skills assessment. If the assessment is expired or does not align with your claims, the visa may be refused.

Health or Character Concerns

Failing medical examinations, having a serious criminal history, or providing misleading information can lead to refusal under Australia’s strict public interest criteria.

Providing False or Misleading Information

Submitting incorrect details, fake documents, or hiding important information may not only cause refusal but could also lead to future visa bans.
