The Partner Visa (Subclass 820/801) allows the spouse or de facto partner of an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or eligible New Zealand citizen to live in Australia. This is a two-stage visa process — Subclass 820 is the temporary stage, followed by Subclass 801 permanent residency. Applicants must demonstrate a genuine and ongoing relationship. The combined base application charge is approximately AUD 8,850 (subject to change by the Department of Home Affairs)
